When you hear the term “internet marketing“, what do you think of?
For many, that term conjures thoughts of websites or spamming or search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. For others, it’s all about graphical design, writing fancy code or even affiliate programs. All of those answers correct, but the essence of internet marketing is much simpler.
At its core, internet marketing is about these things:
* Understanding the target market to which the product/service/cause you’re marketing will appeal
* Determining exactly how your target market interacts with the internet
* Positioning your content on the internet to attract the attention of your target market
* Collecting information about your target market (also known as “leads”) for follow-up and conversion into sales
* Design of offers or incentives to induce the desired actions from your leads
Since there is insufficient space in this article to give all of these topics adequate attention, let’s focus on just one specific topic with the realm of internet marketing: Email Marketing.
My best payoff has always come by focusing on permission-based email marketing. Permission-based email marketing refers to the practice of collecting information (including email addresses) from website visitors and communicating with them via e-mail with their direct consent. The “permission” aspect of permission-based email marketing is what separates legitimate email marketers from the spammers that everyone despises.
My love of email marketing is strong for one reason: It works very well. Email marketing has been much like a never-ending goldmine: It enables us to produce income on demand simply by sending a good offer to our list. When you have thousands of loyal subscribers – as we do – and you put a strong and compatible offer in front of them, income becomes nearly automatic.
However, the key to successful email marketing is the development of a legitimate trust relationship with your subscribers. If you opt to send your subscribers a request for purchases every single day, they will likely tire of your badgering and cease reading your emails altogether.
Alternatively, if you take the time to provide good content to your readers on a regular and frequent basis, you’ll discover that your readers take all of your emails far more seriously, and as a result your emails will be opened, read and acted upon with greater frequency. Essentially, email marketing is really an exercise in trust.
Even though there are more sides to internet marketing than just email marketing (permission based), email has been the foundation that our business sits on.

How to Find Advertisers for your Blog
There are several ways to monetize a blog. One of the most commonly used is by selling advertising space,
either text-based or banner ads. But to do either of these, you’ll need to find advertisers willing pay to have
their ads on your web pages. If you’re unsure on what to do and how to do it, here are some basic tips to
help you find blog advertisers and begin generating revenue with your website:
Promote. Instead of just passively leaving banner ad locations sitting blank, let advertisers know that they are up
for grabs. Use ‘Advertise Here‘ or ‘Your Ad Here‘ text to indicate their availability.
When advertisers click on these areas, have them arrive on a page full of information about buying ad
space. This webpage should cover all areas of advertising on your blog. You may also want to
include a link that will allow a potential advertiser to send you an e-mail.
Seek out advertisers actively. Other than openly promoting your blog for ads, you could also find blog
advertisers by targeting them. Go right after them. That way, you get to choose whose ads appear on your blog.
A standard letter of approach to advertisers should contain:
- a brief introduction about yourself and your business
- a short explanation of the purpose of your e-mail
- brief bullet points why you’re soliciting their sponsorship or ads
- a detailed explanation of the benefits of placing ads on your blog
- details regarding your advertising terms (type of ad placements, industry to which
your advertisers belong, maximum number of ads on one webpage, cost, method of
payment, etc.)
- important details about your site, such as your subject matter, audience, unique traffic, etc.
Offer sponsorship. Blog sponsorships are fast becoming a trend online, as the number of businesses utilizing blogs as an extension of their marketing efforts increases. Through sponsorship, you will be working closely with a company (your advertiser) and promoting their products and services through your blogs. Your web pages will also carry their name, brands and logo.
You could also come up with a sponsorship deal where only specific parts of your blog will be sponsored. This type of blog advertising works well if your site is quite popular already and has a considerable number of visitors.
Do a keyword search. There are many companies and individuals using Google Adwords who might be interested in an arrangement with you. Do a simple keyword or key phrase search regarding major topics on your blog. Then seek out sponsored links and find out about the type of companies that pay for those ads. Get in touch with these people and offer your blog space for their advertisements.
Take advantage of links. Blogs and other sites that link with your blog are potential advertisers. If they find your blog interesting enough to link with, they might be open for negotiations regarding advertising. You might want to send them an e-mail to let them know your blog is available for advertising.
Tap people who use your forums or leave messages. Another way to find blog advertisers is to offer your ad spots to people who leave comments or messages on ur blogs. Seek out people affiliated with a company, group or association. They might be interested to buy ads on your blog.
Keep in mind that almost anything is possible, from text-ads on the front page to banner ads on all of your pages. Keep an open mind, and do your best to generate a good return for your advertiser. Once word gets out that putting ads on your blog gets results, you won’t ever have to look for advertisers again.

IMPORTANT: A quick post to tell you about an important new site called IM Report Card.
IM Report Card is a new community that’s updated daily (sometimes hourly) with reviews of popular Internet marketing products, affiliate programs, traffic exchanges, online business services and well-known (and lesser known!) network marketing people.
Now, when you’re wondering if that Private Label Rights product or Article Marketing Service you’re thinking of buying is worth it, or that new affiliate membership program getting all the hype is a waste of your time or not, you can now find out before you try or buy.
You also get to grade products and programs you’ve had experience with, report scams, add comments and write your own reviews, plus…
>> You can earn money just for participating <<
(I really wish I had thought of this…)
If you’ve been online for even just a few months, you’ve probably already bought, signed up with or have experience with dozens of the products, services, memberships
and people that already have reviews on the site. Just grade and comment on them and you could easily earn some cash.
Check it out and see what you think: The IM Report Card
With a little effort we can make it a lot harder for the promoters of crappy products and fly-by-night programs to do business
online, and shine the spotlight on those people and programs that deserve it.

8 Ways to Make Money Online Using PLR (Free!)
[flv]http://ambrd.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/plrwholevideo.flv[/flv]
PLR Wholesaler – An Affiliate Review
I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately about Private Label Rights (PLR) content. As I learn more, I’ve come up with some great ways to use PLR in my own business.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, PLR is content that you get from the original author along with their permission to use it as your own. So you can get a great report, put your name on it and have your own product to sell or give away!
The first couple of products I created using PLR only took about an hour. There have been a few sales so far so that was definitely time well spent.
When searching for PLR content to use, I’ve found there are a lot of different types of sites. Some offered monthly memberships and others offered a one time purchase. Be sure to really look around before you buy.
By far the best site I’ve found is PLR Wholesaler.com. They have an unbelievable amount of content, and it’s completely FREE. Most sites charge a lot of money for the amount of content that you get for free at PLR Wholesaler.
Because it is free, I highly recommend that you check PLRWholesaler out and pick a few things to try with your business. Maybe an ebook or an audio that you could quickly brand with your information and start selling to your list or use as a giveaway. No matter what – Go check out the incredible inventory of FREE PLR products!
