Unique articles represent an effective and inexpensive way to integrate keywords and key phrases onto a website, as well as attract backlinks naturally. Search engine optimization (SEO), a method for enhancing the on-page attributes that search engines will ultimately score your page on, will almost always credit “natural” actions higher than forced or man-made actions. The differences can be subtle, or painfully obvious.
One example is the number of backlinks pointing to your site. When a search engine spiders your site, it counts both inbound and outbound links. As an example, on this visit the spiders counted 15 inbound links and 40 outbound links. When they spider your site the next week, they count 115 inbound links and the same 40 outbound links. What’s wrong with this picture? Even worse, many of the new inbound links are from pharmacy sites, dating sites and “1st page listing on Google” for $99 sites! Since the number of outbound links stayed the same there probably wasn’t a trade. That leaves buying links. If there is one thing Google really dislikes… it’s the buying of links. With this information so easy to find, I am often bewildered at the number of people who still try it, despite the consequences, and when caught say, “But I didn’t know…”
Your goal, of course, is to get your page listed on the first page of the search results. It is important to not over use (spamming), or under use (not visible enough) the key words you want to show up under in the search engines. This is known as Keyword Density. There are differing opinions as to what is the optimal density for keywords or key phrases for the search engines to correctly categorize your website. Like so many other things in SEO, eventually you will come up with your own density formula through experimentation, trial and error.

When you start your own internet marketing business, it’s often difficult to know which way to turn on what day. You’re constantly bombarded with what seem like great ideas, but it’s the execution that can be very, very frustrating.

Research and write articles today? Build landing pages? How about product creation? It can take every bit of focus just to stay on some sort of track…
Well, list building is one of those “must do everyday” things in every internet marketer’s day planner. Build a responsive list and you are ensuring that you will always have income. You’ve cultivated and grown a great database of people who are interested in your products or services. And you can continually stay in touch and continually build the relationships so crucial to success. You’ll have your own audience- who want to hear your message. This is the ultimate nest egg.
Set up an account with an auto-responder service and create opt-in forms. But don’t just skip over this part. The way that you word your opt-in form is very important. You do not want to ask for too much information, however you do want their first name and email address. With just those two items, you can create personalized content.
Always reassure people how you will handle their information. For instance, you might want to put a sentence such as “I value your privacy. I will not share or sell your information”. Some people put things like “I hate spam as much as you do.”
Building a list is a business in and of itself. Make a plan for how you will do it, what you will offer to get sign ups and what your future plans are. Most importantly, take action!
In the end, list building is something you must take seriously if you really want to make a full-time go of Internet marketing. Keep your list members happy, help them to trust you, and your list will serve you well for many years to come.
Online Affiliate Blog Marketing can be pictured as revenue sharing between a blogger and a merchant. The blogger places banners, text links and even reviews on his blogs helping sell the merchant’s products, in exchange for a share of the profits.
Affiliate Programs
An affiliate program is a marketing tool for the merchant, and a source of earnings for the blogger that participates in it, called an affiliate or associate or a publisher.
There are several methods to produce revenue through affiliate marketing:
1) Pay per Click or Cost-per-click programs: When a potential customer leaves the affiliate blog by “clicking” on a banner or text link leading to the merchant’s website, money is deposited in the affiliate’s account. This amount can be pennies or dollars depending on the product value and the commission percentage.
2) Pay per Lead or Cost-per-lead programs: The merchant pays the blogger a set fee for each visitor who clicks through and takes an action at the merchant’s site, like filling out a survey, registering at the site, or opting-in to the sites email list.
3) Pay per Sale or Cost-per-sale programs: Each sale that is made as a result of advertising on the blogger’s blog, a commission is deposited into the blogger’s account.
The Amazon Story
The world’s biggest online bookstore is perhaps the most successful example of an affiliate program (called their associate program). Amazon has over 1 million affiliates! That translates to over 1 million blogs and websites promoting their products every single second of every single day. Generating over 40% of its revenue through their associates. That equals about $3 billion in revenue a year.
Thousands of diverse and unique companies have affiliate programs: Booksellers, Computer Retailers, Florists, Hosting Companies and Software Developers are only the tip of the iceburg. Many, many niche e-businesses depend on their affiliates not just to profit, but to survive. These “boutique” businesses don’t have the cash-flow to do high-profile advertising. It’s the grassroots, word-of-mouth (and blog) exposure that allows them to create or market just a few specialty items and still make a living.
