ARTICLE REWRITING – ARTICLE MARKETING AND SEO

Unique articles represent an effective and inexpensive way to integrate keywords and key phrases onto a website, as well as attract backlinks naturally. Search engine optimization (SEO), a method for enhancing the on-page attributes that search engines will ultimately score your page on, will almost always credit “natural” actions higher than forced or man-made actions. The differences can be subtle, or painfully obvious.

One example is the number of backlinks pointing to your site. When a search engine spiders your site, it counts both inbound and outbound links. As an example, on this visit the spiders counted 15 inbound links and 40 outbound links. When they spider your site the next week, they count 115 inbound links and the same 40 outbound links. What’s wrong with this picture? Even worse, many of the new inbound links are from pharmacy sites, dating sites and “1st page listing on Google” for $99 sites! Since the number of outbound links stayed the same there probably wasn’t a trade. That leaves buying links. If there is one thing Google really dislikes… it’s the buying of links. With this information so easy to find, I am often bewildered at the number of people who still try it, despite the consequences, and when caught say, “But I didn’t know…”

Your goal, of course, is to get your page listed on the first page of the search results.  It is important to not over use (spamming), or under use (not visible enough) the key words you want to show up under in the search engines. This is known as Keyword Density. There are differing opinions as to what is the optimal density for keywords or key phrases for the search engines to correctly categorize your website. Like so many other things in SEO, eventually you will come up with your own density formula through experimentation, trial and error.

The Internet Runs on Content. Search Engines Run on Good Content.

Developing, creating and authoring an internet based business, blog or website requires content. Lots of content. This is not a secret; even brand-new blog owners and website developers are aware of this fact.

“The Internet runs on content.”

2973684461 8ecfb1dd10 The Internet Runs on Content. Search Engines Run on Good Content.

Content satisfies peoples desire for information and knowledge. Good content can provide a blog or website with the search engine rankings it needs to attract even more visitors.

Getting a blog ranked high in the search results for relevant keywords and keyword phrases is the ultimate pay-off for a blog owner. From a single top ranked popular keyword or keyword phrase can stem many side benefits. Becoming ranked, especially in the Top Ten, is like sending up a signal flare to other blog owners that says, “Here I am… Come link to me.” The subsequent links equate to still more visits as those links, now spread over a wide swath of the Internet, are clicked on. And ranked content can boost the confidence and trust levels of customers and clients, resulting in more and greater sales for your company.

It’s obvious that good content directly benefits the blog owner; but what about the visitors and readers? Earlier I stated that the Internet runs on content. But that’s only partially true. What the Internet really runs on is relevant content. When a reader finds the information they were seeking, gaining the knowledge they were expecting, that website, and the search engine that brought them to it, just made a new “convert.”

If it weren’t for an algorithm that matched readers and the content they wanted on a regular basis, Google would be mentioned in the same paragraph as Northern Light, Teoma, AlltheWeb and Excite instead of by itself as the biggest and most used search engine…ever.

We’ve established that content is very important to a blog or website, and to business. To stay ahead in the game; to stay in the game at all, requires content. It’s here that we run into a dilemma… very few people like writing, much less reports or articles.

In fact, I know blog owners who would rather fall off of a roof into a thatch of poison ivy, needles and wasps than put pen to paper. For most blog owners, outsourcing article writing isn’t an option yet. The necessary resources are at least a few months away from being available. And attempting a foolish shortcut like copying the text from another blog is getting expensive, plus, having your site taken down for a few days, if not longer, can be embarrassing! But expensive is a relative term. Fines that can reach tens of thousands of dollars might not be considered expensive by some. Plagiarism however, is definitely looked down upon in the blogosphere, and I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for any awards at next years “Bloggies.” Besides, a worst-case scenario would involve that big fine as well as some jail time.

But wait a minute… No one should be going to jail because they couldn’t come up with some original content. There are solutions- you need to think outside of the box, not be afraid, color outside of the lines and get very, very creative.

So stay tuned… We will visit those solutions in the very next post!

Until then…

The Poetic Prophet (AKA The SEO Rapper) is back with another marketing rap. This time he describes how web standards and proper design can affect the ranking and conversion of pages on your site.

And, of course, the lyrics:
Your site design is the first thing people see / it should be reflective of you and the industry
easy to look at with a nice navigation / when you can’t find what you want it causes frustration
a clear Call to Action to increase the temptation / use appealing graphics they create motivation
if you have animation / use with moderation
cause search engines can’t index the information

display the logos of all your associations / highlight your contact info that’s an obligation
create a clean design you can use some decoration / but to try to prevent any client hesitation
every page that they click should provide an explanation / should be easy to understand like having a conversation
when you design the style go ahead and use your imagination / but make sure you use correct color combinations

do some investigation, look at other organizations / but don’t duplicate or you might face a litigation
design done, congratulations but it’s time to start construction / follow these instructions when you move into production
your photoshop functions then slice that design / do your layout with divs make sure that it’s aligned
please don’t use tables even though they work fine / when it come to indexing they give searches a hard time

make it easy for the spiders to crawl what you provide / remove font type, font color and font size
no background colors, keep your coding real neat, tag your look and feel on a separate style sheet
better results with xml and css / now you making progress, a lil closer to success

describe your doctype so the browser can relate / make sure you do it great or it won’t validate
check in all browsers, I do it directly / gotta make sure that it renders correctly
some use IE, some others use Flock / some use AOL, I use Firefox

title everything including links and images / don’t use italics, use emphasis
don’t use bold, please use strong / if you use bold that’s old and wrong
when you use CSS, you page will load quicker / client satisfied like they eating on a snicker
they stuck on your page like you made it with a sticker / and then they convert now that’s the real kicker
make you a lil richer, your site a lil slicker / design and code right man I hope you get the picture
what I’m telling you is true man it should be a scripture

if it’s built right you’ll be the pick of the litter / everyone will want to follow you like twitter
competition will get bitter and you’ll shine like glitter / if you trying to grow your company will get bigger

design and code right man can you get with it

Amazing… lolol
